Impressionism

 Impressionism is where that the use of color and setting in music videos is what conveys the mood and emotion of the music video to help give the audience an impression of it. Impressionism was originally used in art with paintings which where created to convey emotions and create an atmosphere from it. Western classical music during the late 19th and 20th century  had adopted Impressionism to create an atmosphere and emotions that goes with the music. Impressionism is used in music videos to give the audience an impression towards it with its setting and music lyrics playing to create the an emotion and atmosphere to the audience.

   

This is an example of an Impressionism. This screenshot is from a music video called Kings and Queens by 30 seconds to mars. This shows impressionism by the use of  high key lighting in the video with the sun and the street lights in the city later in the music video which conveys joys and happiness that the characters feel by being together and wherever they go they bring a happy and joyful atmosphere to the area.
